What's New This Half Term: Tech Talks, Maths, and Revision Masterclasses

Three new online streams launching this half term

This half term, alongside our core programme (with five teachers funded by the Hg Foundation now delivering weekly in-person sessions to their regional partner state schools), we're launching a new weekly online programme. It features three rotating streams, each designed to complement the Computer Science GCSE curriculum and give students something different each week.

Tech Horizons: live podcast sessions

First up is Tech Horizons, our live podcast sessions spotlighting inspirational figures from the technology sector. Leading the way is Dr Jack Saunders, Technical Director at Trident Intelligent Solutions, who leads a team developing innovative software for the water industry using machine learning. His session will focus on how artificial intelligence and data-driven techniques can be applied to tackle real-world challenges.

Maths for Computing: building confidence where it counts

Maths plays a critical role in Computer Science, and many students find it the biggest barrier. We've created a targeted short course designed to sit alongside the GCSE Computer Science curriculum, building students' confidence and competence in the mathematical skills they'll need. John Smith, our Programme Manager and an experienced Maths teacher, will oversee these sessions, drawing on specialist input and guidance. The aim is straightforward: stronger maths, stronger outcomes.

Revision masterclasses: targeted exam preparation

The third stream is a series of specialist revision masterclasses, each focusing on critical topics within the Computer Science GCSE syllabus. These are targeted sessions designed to reinforce understanding and prepare students for exam success.
